Common questions

Where are my dreams stored?

On your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. We can't see them, so we also can't restore them. Keep iCloud on for DreamWake, and use Settings > Export to save a copy as Markdown or JSON.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open iOS Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, choose DreamWake and cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your journal stays readable and exportable after the subscription ends.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I got a new iPhone. Where did my subscription go?

Sign in with the same Apple Account and use "Restore purchases" in the app.

How do I delete my data?

Settings > Delete everything removes all DreamWake data from your device and your iCloud, and cancels scheduled alarms and notifications. To also remove the usage statistics tied to your anonymous ID, email us the ID shown in Settings. Deleting data does not cancel a subscription; do that in iOS Settings.

I used DreamWake 1. Where are my old dreams?

DreamWake 2 offers a one-time import of your dream text from the old server. The server copies are deleted when the import window closes, three months after DreamWake 2's release, so import them before then.

Is DreamWake medical advice?

No. If lucid dreaming practice or the early-window alarm makes your sleep or mood worse, stop. If you're in crisis, call your local emergency number or a crisis line (112, 911, 988 in the US, 113 in the Netherlands).
